Walking, 30th birthday & a 1st birthday

Well On September 13th, Ms. Payton Leah took her first steps!! Nick & I where so excited! Four steps in all, and a plop on her butt, he & I cheered. So excited that we didn't miss it! You worry about that when you are a full time working parent. She's getting quite big, 30 inches tall, and almost 24 lbs. Her 1st birthday is coming up this October! Crazy how fast time has flown by! She has two teeth finally, got those around 9 months. She also likes the quads, we've noticed she likes anything with a rumble to it, daddy's car, the quads. I think she's going to be our lil racer! ;o)

Recently Nick & I headed over to the coast for my 30th birthday with some friends, had a great time, didn't get to do all that I wanted to do, but it was still fun, and a great connection time for my husband & I. My brother Chuck & sister in law Sonja came up from Utah to watch Payton for us while we where on vacation. Between my mom, brother & sister in law she was well taken care of, and spoiled rotten!! ;o)
On our trip Nick & I cara-vanned with Marie & Jenn, stoped off in Multinohma Falls, ate lunch in the cafe there and hiked to the falls bridge. Took us 9 1/2 hours to get to the camp site, not to bad! We watched the BSU game in a local pizza bar. We had about 12 people there rooting for BSU, it was fun! We even got cussed at by some old cogger walking out of a liqur store, shaking his cane at us, (we had the BSU flags proudly attached to the truck ;o) and cursing at us, and telling us to go home. Nick was worrie his truck was going to get keyed! Ha...ha...

The next day we headed to winchester bay to go riding, that night it rained heavy, puddles everywhere, so we decided to do the sight seeing thing, we headed up to newport, and wouldn't you know it...it ended up being georgous weather! That night was the taco/nacho night, everyone gathered at our yurt sight and we have chicken, beef & fish for taco's or nacho's! It was fun & nice to have everyone but a select few who where there all at once!
On Sunday we headed towards Florence to do some riding, we rode hard that day!!
Only stoping to eat lunch and a few mini breaks here & there. Nick & I where both a little muscle sore on the drive home Monday, but it was well worth it! We had a great time, and want to thank all those who came! Meant allot to me that you all made it on the trip!

Here are some recent pics of our Bug and our trip. Hope every one is doing well!

Paytons 1st Road Trip

My nephew Derek had a wedding down in Salt Lake, so we went down for it. Stayed with my brother Chuck and sister in law Sonja. We planned the road trip around her nap time so that she might sleep for most of it. It worked!

She slept till just before Twin Falls, we decided to stop off at Shoshone Falls, I hadn't been since I was a teenager, and Nick had never been.

Took a family picture, Payton wasn't to thrilled, she wanted to be on the ground, not being held. lol

1st zoo visit!

Took Payton to the zoo today, her 1st trip. She was more interested in all the people that where crowding the place, but she liked the giraffes and butterflies that where displayed in a case. lol
She liked the tigers too.

She loved being on daddy's shoulders!

Family Pic!

Our friends Dave, Mary Beth & their son Aaron met up with us.

We had a good time, it was fun taking Payton to the zoo. It was packed though, it was zoo daze. translation....TONS of families. Carnival kind of atmosphere, face painting, Balloon animals, fair style food. The heat wore her out as well as all the sights! Walking back to the truck she was tuckered out!

May 09

Well it's been a while since I blogged about life. Nick & I are looking forward to our trip at the end of the summer. We're going to head to the coast with the quads, and camp with a bunch of friends. REALLY looking forward to it! Anyone who would like to join, just let me know!

Payton had her 6 month check up! She's still in the 90th percentile. 98% on height, and 96% on weight. Height of a 11 month old, and the weight of a 9-10 month old!

She's sitting up now, beginning to get mobile, and starting foods.
I know to some they think she should have been on foods far earlier. But because of her acid reflux that she had in the first few months of life, her doctor thought it best to wait till she was over it more so that when she did start foods she wouldn't have too many more issues. So far her faves are: Apples, Pears, butternut squash, and the one that we discovered last night, banana's!

It's fun to feed her, figured out what she does & doesn't like. Once I figure out what she's crazy about, I'll start making her food. My sister bought me a great baby food maker. Excited to use it!

On a side note, in our front yard ever since we moved in their has been this transplanted tulip in a random spot, from a furry little rodent I'm sure. But for the first year it was only one tulip, the next year, and couple following it was two tulips, this year...their are three....I like the coincidence!
Hope everyone had a great Easter holiday. We spent time with my family this year. Ms. Payton had a cute outfit on, and it was nice to spend some time with family.

Some of the pictures I took at Easter.

Recently I went to the park to to take some pictures of some friends and their kids. I also snapped a few of Nick, Payton, and even Nick took some of me.

We also started taking Payton to childcare two days a week while I'm at work. I think it will be good for her, be around people who are not in her circle. Let her get used to a place so that way when I do go back to work full time it's not quite as much of a shock for her. And as this lady who's watching her gets her spots filled, Payton will meet new faces. She so social by nature. Yesterday was her first day, and I figured when I left she would start crying or reach for me. Nope, she looked at me smiled, and went back to playing with Ms. Heathers necklace. I called on my lunch break to see how she was doing, she was playing having a good time, and I asked if she might have had a melt down once I left, apparently she hadn't noticed I left! ha..ha...
She really likes Heather, and Nick & I both had a great feeling about her. I think this will work well!
